Shot with a Lead Arrow is an art series expressing the challenges, confusions, and discoveries of aro individuals. It will be the first aromantic art exhibition in the US and open on February 16th at the Stuart B. and Barbara H. Padnos Gallery at Grand Valley State University. It takes its title from the myth of Daphne and Apollo in which Cupid shot two arrows: a gold one which made Apollo fall madly in love with the nymph Daphne, and one with a tip of lead, which made Daphne reject the god’s advances. It’s an exhibition that asks, what shape does one’s life take when the lovers sent by Cupid hold no appeal?
